Supporting Neurodivergent Clients
I aim to create a safe, flexible, and affirming space for neurodivergent clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I understand that the human brain works in different ways, appreciating that there is more than one ‘normal’.
I work realistically and supportively to understand how a person’s lived experiences impact their feelings, thoughts, behaviours and relationships. Finding out what an individual wants and needs for themself and their life is important.
This means:
- Listening and validating your experience without judgement, offering a space in which you can be you, unmasked, and feel appreciated and accepted.
- Adapting sessions to your needs, whether that is pacing, communication style, or sensory considerations.
- Focusing on strengths as well as challenges, helping you build confidence and self-advocacy.
- Helping to develop practical and emotional strategies to navigate everyday life while honouring your individuality.
My approach is grounded in empathy, flexibility, and respect, helping you feel seen, understood, and empowered to grow at your own pace.
